Everyone Has a Story
and here is ours…
Atticus, a store with a story for the adventurous in spirit and taste. What people all over the world now recognize as Atticus Tea and Coffee, didn’t start with the highest quality or consistent coffee made with the most esteemed locally sourced roasters. It did not begin at the heart of one of the most renowned ski towns in the U.S. It didn’t even begin with owners, Erica, and Randy Winzeler’s ravenous passion for the highest mountains, roughest waters, or the pursuit of the best snow on earth. It began with a book and a dream. Atticus Finch of Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ was someone dedicated to dignity, family, and community. For a decade, Erica’s mother, Cassandra Schiavone, collected used and new books from around the world in hopes of one day opening a bookstore and tea house named after the character she valued and emphasized to her family. In 2010 that store became a reality when Erica and Randy decided to fuse that dream with their own.
At 738 Lower Main, Park City, across from the Town Lift, you can find and enjoy some of the highest quality, and rarest teas, the fastest and most precise baristas, the hippest gifts, and a family-like staff dedicated to the mountain lifestyle. Randy Winzeler, born and raised in Park City, along with his wife Erica (a local of twenty years) are just as dedicated to ripping trails in competitive enduro races, and snatching fresh powder on the Uinta’s gnarliest peaks, as they are to making that lifestyle a possibility for the employees that work at Atticus. “Sometimes we close on powder days if it’s too good out there,” Erica says, “we have to keep our priorities right and remember why we live here.”
This impassioned approach to cultivate community and quality has led them to be titled “Park City’s unofficial living room” by the Historic Park City Alliance.
Beyond their love for outdoor recreation, quality, and service, the Park City community is the cornerstone of their business and they are committed to donating a percentage of all sales to regional charities and non-profits. Ten years later, Atticus Coffee & Tea remains dedicated to elevating your adventure, encouraging your health and taste, and cultivating a community of character.
